Senate passes bill making May 29th “Mental Health Awareness in Agriculture Day”

The Senate passed a bipartisan resolution introduced by Senators Deb Fischer and Michael Bennett, marking May 29th as “Mental Health Awareness in Agriculture Day.”

The initiative aims to address the significant mental health challenges faced by ag workers due to factors like weather uncertainties and market volatility.
It is supported by various stakeholders including the National Rural Health Association and agricultural organizations.

The resolution seeks to raise awareness about these issues, reduce stigma around mental health, and improve access to mental health resources for farmers, ranchers, and farm workers nationwide.
