This year’s Water Resources Development Act passed with a landslide vote in the Senate, showing strong bipartisan support, and the bill contains a provision pushed for by the American Soybean Association.
It would permanently adjust the cost-share ratio for the Inland Waterways Trust Fund Projects, now making it 75 percent general fund to 25 percent IWTF. The adjustment could allow projects to be completed faster.
The House passed its version of the bill back in June, it did not include this cost-share adjustment. The two chambers will now meet to negotiate differences.
