WASHINGTON, D.C. (RFD-TV) The Senate is expected to consider legislation that could greenlight construction on the controversial Keystone XL Pipeline. The House has already voted to approve construction of the pipeline, which would carry oil from Canada through rural America, down to Texas.

Supporters of the pipeline say it will provide thousands of jobs and lessen America’s dependence on foreign oil.

But critics are worried about possible environmental impacts.

The State Department recently extended the review of the project indefinitely.
