September was National Suicide Prevention Month, but addressing mental health for producers is year-round

While September was National Suicide Prevention Month, addressing the daily stress that comes with farming is a year-round effort of the ag sector with recent studies showing the rate of suicide among farmers being 3.5 times higher than the general population.

Stephanie Weatherly with Psychiatric Medical Care spoke with RFD-TV’s own Suzanne Alexander on the increased risk producers face, behavioral health providers in rural areas, and how they are helping break the stigma about mental health.
