Nashville, TN – Award-winning American duo Lost Hollow pays tribute to a beloved wife and mother of four while raising awareness against drunk driving in its uplifting new song and video “Shine On.”
On Christmas Eve, Sancy Shaw, of Steamboat Springs, CO, and her six year old daughter, Charlee, were struck by another vehicle driven by a drunk driver. Sancy and the other driver were killed, while Charlee suffered life-altering injuries.
As part of Lost Hollow’s crowdfunding campaign an individual purchased a tier that included a co-write and production of one song with Tommy and Lorrie Harden of Lost Hollow. The song would be about Sancy Shaw, with whose story Lost Hollow felt a personal connection, since Lorrie Harden grew up in Steamboat Springs and she and Tommy Harden were married there. Tommy explains, “The one caveat of writing the song is that it had to be positive and uplifting - that was a must.”
The Shaw family had been featured in numerous commercials and videos, and the videographers involved in those projects graciously agreed to share footage for the making of the “Shine On” video, which features those scenes of the Shaw family intercut with shots of Lost Hollow singing amidst the outdoors of Tennessee.
The Steamboat Pilot quoted Lorrie saying, “I wanted to bring awareness in a positive light. She was such a beautiful, strong, spiritual woman that the community embraced and loved. It was important for me — that even though she is gone — that her light is going to shine on through everybody else that was able to get in touch with her.”
The profoundly affected community of Steamboat Springs has rallied together to support the family by selling hats with the phrase “Shine On” to raise money for Live Like Sancy, The Sancy Shaw Memorial Fund and pushing hashtags #livelikeSancy and #fightlikeCharlee.
“Shine On” was written by Lorrie Harden, Tommy Harden of Lost Hollow and Greg Peterson and can be found on the upcoming August 26 release “Looking For Happy.” The new single can be downloaded at losthollowband.com/shine-on with 100% of the donations going to Live like Sancy – The Sancy Shaw Scholarship Fund.
