Shocking Estimates: Hurricane Helene’s ag damages are three times that of 2018’s Hurricane Michael

The damages caused by Hurricane Helene are becoming more and more clear.

From the destruction of crops to businesses and the livelihoods of hundreds of workers that keep the ag industry going in Georgia, the early estimates are shocking.
The University of Georgia predicts that ag losses due to Helene may reach totals of nearly $6.5 billion.

That is nearly three times the damage caused by Hurricane Michael in the state back in 2018.

It has left thousands of Georgia farmers with an uncertain future.
