Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, from New York, has introduced the Small Farmer Relief Act, in hopes to bring additional financial aid to producers. Eligible operations are those that make less than $300 thousand dollars a year.
The act would be a one time debt forgiveness up to $250 thousand dollars and covers three of the USDA’s loan programs.
