A California man is suing Smithfield Foods’ Farmer John Clougherty packing plant for pollution violations.
The lawsuit claims the company has broken the Clean Water Act by releasing pollutants into the Los Angeles River since 2014.
Smithfield Foods says it takes environmental obligations seriously and will review the claims.
