South Dakota vet offers update following 75,000 bird loss due to HPAI

Nearly 59 million birds in 47 states have been affected by high path avian influenza since the outbreak began in February 2022.
A recent outbreak in South Dakota resulted in the loss of more than 75,000 birds, marking the largest to date for the state.

South Dakota State Veterinarian, Beth Thompson spoke with RFD-TV’s own BLANK on how the state is dealing with the outbreak, the losses felt in the state, and the ripple effects being felt by the poultry sector.
