Country superstar George Strait will join dozens of singers, actors, athletes and other celebrities for HAND IN HAND: A Benefit for Hurricane Relief. The live telethon will include performances from New York, Los Angeles and Nashville. Strait will also perform live from the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio alongside friends Miranda Lambert, Lyle Lovett, Chris Stapleton and Robert Earl Keen.
HAND IN HAND will be broadcast at 8:00 PM ET across multiple networks and will also stream live on YouTube and Facebook. According to the event website, the entire amount of donations from the public received by Hand in Hand Hurricane Relief Fund will be distributed to charities working on the ground the affected areas. Costs of producing the benefit and processing donations are covered by corporate and provide sponsorship.
What began as a Texas-focused initiative in response to Hurricane Harvey, has now expanded to include organizations in Hurricane Irma-ravaged Florida. Donations will be distributed to multiple charities including, the Rebuild Texas Fund, the ASPCA, Save Them All, Direct Relief, Feeding Florida, Feeding Texas, Habitat for Humanity, Save the Children and the United Way. More charities will be announced as the needs for those affected by Hurricane Irma are evaluated.
Several Texas natives are joining Strait in this all-star relief effort - including Matthew McConaughey, Julia Roberts, Beyonce, Angie Harmon, Selena Gomez and more. Check out the complete list of celebrities below.
