Cushman

June 20, 2017

The Cushman brand was established in 1901, founded by two cousins who started out manufacturing farm machinery and two-cycle boat engines. The company really came into its own during WWII, when it had a government contract to deliver scooters to the U.S. Armed Forces. Over one hundred years after its founding, the Cushman brand, now a subsidiary of Textron Specialized Vehicles, continues operations from its 700,000-square-foot plant in August, Georgia, where it provides rugged and dependable golf carts, utility and personal transportation vehicles, turf machinery and ground support equipment for use by a variety of industries.

Cushman vehicles are found in environments ranging from golf courses to factories, airports to planned communities, and theme parks to hunting preserves. Textron Specialized Vehicles is backed by the expertise of parent company, Textron, whose global network of aircraft, defense and industrial businesses provides customers with innovative solutions and services.

Hamish Lusty, VP of Commercial for Textron Specialized Vehicles, joined us live on the set of “Market Day Report” to provide a further look at the company.
