Feral hog hunting was first banned on state-owned land and is now banned on federal forest land.
Public affairs officer with the Mark Twain National Forest, Cody Norris told MyMOInfo that there are no new rules for hog hunting on private land and the forest service would like hunters to report any feral hogs that are killed so they can add those to the list of eliminated hogs.
Between October 1st, 2018 and September 30th, 2019 nearly 9,500 feral hogs were eliminated through statewide eradication efforts by all state and federal agencies from both public and private lands.
