October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and it is the perfect opportunity to show your support through pink flowers. LSU AgCenter shares the types of flowers you can use.
From light pink to hot pink there is a flower for you.
For those looking for something that is not year round, Heather suggest annuals that can be changed out like jolt dianthus and amazon dianthus. They are cool season Louisiana super plants that are great for your landscape.
For a larger impact, you can plant supertunia vista bubblegum. “This one is a workhorse of a petunia. Just pink everywhere!”
Other Louisiana super plants for year round are penny mac hydrangeas, Belinda’s dream roses, Aphrodite althea, and conversation piece azalea. Evergreens like the evergreen oleander have beautiful pink blossoms.
