Farmers remain concerned about the future, despite strong economic conditions. That is according to the latest Ag Economy Barometer, which drifted seven points lower in January.
Dr. Jim Mintert, an ag economics professor with the University of Purdue, speaks with RFD-TV’s own Janet Adkison on what is contributing to the decline, how it has impacted the farm capital investment index, and changes to farmland prices.
According to Dr. Mintert, “People are willing to make investments in their farming operation; they are also willing to invest in things like farming machinery. So, pretty positive from that standpoint. That’s all being driven by that current condition perspective. The future expectations, I really think is down the road when you look at some of the policy issues people appear to be concerned about.”
