On Wednesday evening, the world’s largest meatpacker, JBS, released a statement stating that it did pay the ransom after they were hit by a cyberattack.
They paid $11 million dollars, however, it was after the company had gone back online.
“This was a very difficult decision to make for our company and for me personally. However, we felt this decision had to be made to prevent any potential risk for our customers,” JBS CEO Andre Nogueria said in the released statement.
The statement also noted that no customer, employee, or company data was compromised.
