Last year, we reported on a New Zealand couple who dug up a massive potato, which they named Doug. They were waiting to hear back from Guinness World Records on if it was the largest potato, and also the ugliest.
Well, the results are in... it is a tuber of a gourd, AP reports.
According to Guinness in an email to Colin Craig-Brown, “Sadly the specimen is not a potato and is in fact the tuber of a type of gourd. For this reason, we do unfortunately have to disqualify the application.”
Colin now has a bug to truly grow the world’s largest potato.
