The National Cotton Council not only works on behalf of cotton producers, but it also wants its producers to understand what they do.
Since 1999, the Council has been helping its participants learn more about policy development and the implementation process through its Policy Education Program. The Vice President of Member Services shares more about the opportunity.
“This year there were six participants in this class. The participants in this program participated in two sessions throughout the year. The first session is held during the council’s annual meeting where participants will gain a better understanding of the council’s structure and a lot of the issues that the industry makes. The second session focuses on professional development training,” said John Gibson.
Gibson says the program has always been important for industry advocacy because it helps create a broader network.
