Everything is better with breakfast food, right?
The Kentucky Farm Bureau and state ag leaders recently gathered under one roof for their annual Country Ham Breakfast. Bidders fought for the chance to bring home a country ham, and this year, it broke records.
The ham came in at more than 17 pounds with a bid of $5 million from Central Bank and Joe and Kelly Craft, beating last year’s record of $4.8 million. The pricey pork was produced by Broadbent Country Hams in Cadiz, Kentucky.
The Craft’s tell Spectrum News 1 that following the recent flood devastation in the state, “it’s more important than ever for all of us to put our best foot forward and take care of our neighbors in communities across Kentucky.”
The Breakfast is on its way to crossing its 60th-year threshold and has raised more than $23 million for charities and non-profit organizations.
