Jake Hoot, a country singer from Cookville, Tennessee, was crowned the season 17 winner of ‘The Voice.’

“I don’t even have words. Utterly speechless. Thank you,” Hoot said on Instagram. “From me and my family, thank you. This trophy, this win, this ride is just as much yours as it is mine.”

Hoot was coached by Kelly Clarkson on the show and he told People Magazine that he continually doubted himself but Clarkson continued to encourage him.

“I think I went out of breath. I lost all my breath when they announced my name,” he also told the magazine.

Hoot defeated other finalists Rickey Duran, Rose Short and Katie Kadan in the finale. He was the lone country singer in the competition.

Hoot, a family man, plans to celebrate the win with his daughters.
