It is no secret that Tennessee loves Dolly Parton! The “Queen of Country” and (unofficial) “Queen of Tennessee” has been the subject of much legislation in the state’s government.
Most recently, House Representatives introduced a bill that would make “Amazing Grace” sung by Dolly Parton the official state song.
It passed the House on first consideration on Wednesday. It now heads to the Senate, and (hopefully) the governor’s desk.
