Texas Tornado Update: Farms and ag infrastructure are still left mostly unharmed

The rural community of Perryton, Texas is working to recover after last week’s devastating tornado but officials there say ag operations were mostly spared.

The Texas Farm Bureau reports farms and ag facilities in the area were left unharmed. The president of the local Farm Bureau says the destruction hit in the city itself away from ag operations but he says the cleanup efforts will not be over any time soon.

Perryton is a ranching community about seven miles south of the Oklahoma border. Governor Abbott has issued a disaster declaration for the area to help speed up the recovery efforts.
