A 41-year-old Texas woman was arrested and charged third-degree felony theft of livestock last week following an investigation from a Special Ranger of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association.
According to the TSCRA, the investigation began in June and was eventually connected to 41-year-old Margaret Guidry, who owned the property leased by the victim.
Guidry allegedly stole nine head of cattle worth about $5,500 and sold them in Mason County, which is outside of Austin.
According to Special Ranger Mike Barr, Guidry admitted to selling the cattle because the victim had fallen behind on payments or the lease.
Guidry was indicted on No. 8, 2019 and faces up to 10 years in prison or fines up to $10,000.
