Nashville, Tenn. (RFD-TV) National Farmers Union, Director of Government Relations, Barbara Patterson, spoke with RFD-TV’s Christina Loren about farmers’ earnings during the Thanksgiving season.

When all is said and done, farmers typically only earn 11.4 cents per dollar spent by consumers on their Thanksgiving meals. Many are concerned about where the remaining 88.6 cents goes. Patterson explained how the statistics are compiled, touching upon factors such as transportation, processing and marketing costs that affect grocery store prices.
