The Calwood Fire scorches 9,000 acres in Colorado

This morning we are tracking dangerous fires in Colorado.

On Sunday, the Calwood Fire ignited and burned 9,000 acres in Boulder County. It forced 3,000 people to evacuate.

Crews say that extremely dry conditions and high winds fueled the fire. The fire has destroyed more than 26 homes. So far, only 15 percent of it has been contained.

It is now the largest fire to burn in Boulder County history.
