The drones you use on your farm may be a threat to national security

If you are an agricultural producer who relies on drones for your farm operations, you will want to pay close attention to recent warnings issued by the FBI.

The agency has raised significant concerns about using drones manufactured in China due to the substantial risks they pose to critical infrastructure and U.S. national security.
Chinese laws provide the government with expanded access to data held by firms in China, raising fears of data theft and network compromises.

Both the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and the FBI strongly advice critical infrastructure owners, including those in agriculture, to prioritize secure-by-design principles when procuring drones, even those made by U.S. companies.
