The results are in for DTN’s 2022 Yield Tour!

The 2022 DTN Yield Tour found that the corn and soybean crops in the eastern U.S. are set up for a successful yield, while the crops in the west are struggling because of heat and sporadic rain patterns.

In its fifth year, DTN’s yield tour contest generates real-time yield maps with satellite imagery, rainfall data and temperature maps.

The yield estimates for both crops this year were lower than expected and lower than most private estimates, according to a DTN analyst. They add that next month’s numbers are likely to be more important, as crop development as in an earlier stage right now than usual.
