The first Crop Progress report of the season is out and we are getting a good look at this year’s winter wheat crop, which is up significantly from this time last year.
Winter wheat is sitting at 56 percent good to excellent, which is up from a decade-low of 28 percent this time last year. On the planting side, corn is just 2 percent in the ground, which is one point ahead of the five-year-average.
Analysts with DTN say the Plains could see some moisture this week, but that comes with the threat of severe weather in some areas.
