There are resources available for rural Americans dealing with mental health and addiction issues

One out of every five rural adults suffers from mental illness, which has led to growing substance abuse in small communities.

This Thursday is National Rural Health Day, serving as a chance to highlight efforts to increase healthcare access.

Allison Hutchings with the Health Resources and Services Administration spoke with RFD-TV’s own Janet Adkison on how this impacts equity and resources.
