There is a “revitalization of rural” thanks to millennials

Millennials are ditching the suburbs in favor of rural America.

A recent survey by an investment bank found that 4 percent of millennials left big cities during the pandemic.

They also have buying power, meaning a boost for some rural businesses. This week, the CEO of Tractor Supply told CNBC that millennials helped boost its sales in the first quarter. He called it a “revitalization of rural.”

A homeownership report from Apartments List shows that millennials are also buying homes. They led the pack for sales in 2020.
