Those who want or have a CDL in Illinois now qualify for a scholarship program

The Illinois Pork Producers Association now offers a $1,000 scholarship for those seeking to get or keep a CDL license in the state.

With the U.S. truck driver shortage at an all-time high, pork producers are struggling to find transportation support. The PPA says their goal to help producers support and retain their employees is more important than ever, and they want to recruit the next generation of pork industry advocates.

To quality, scholarship applicants must show proof that they haul feed or pigs for a producer in Illinois.
