NASHVILLE, Tenn (RFD-TV) Face-to-face meetings between the U.S. and China are underway in Beijing. Reuters reports China has “good faith” to fix trade issues. The country’s Foreign Ministry says it wants to resolve the frictions on the basis of mutual respect and equality. On Sunday, President Donald Trump said talks were going very well and that weakness in the Chinese economy gave Beijing a reason to work toward a deal. The agricultural sector is represented with Undersecretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs, Ted McKinney and U.S. Trade Representative Chief Agricultural Negotiator, Gregg Doud taking part in the meetings. Few details have emerged from the talks. Later this month, U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer is expected to meet with the Chinese Vice Premier, who serves as President Xi’s top economic advisor.
