Trump officials work on mini trade deal with Brazil

Despite House Democrats opposition to a comprehensive free trade deal with Brazil, Trump officials are working towards a mini trade deal that would not require Congressional approval. The agreement would cover trade facilitation, digital trade, and regulatory practices.

Officials hope to finalize things by the end of this year, perhaps as early as August. The mini deal approach worked to establish robust agreements with China and Japan but would not include ag concessions. Those would have to be approved by Congress.
