NASHVILLE, Tenn. (RFD News) — President Donald Trump has ordered American flags to be lowered for one week in honor of country music legend Dolly Parton, who died at 80.
Trump paid tribute to Parton in a post on Truth Social, calling her death a loss for millions of people.
“Very sad to report that Dolly Parton, one of the greatest Country singers, and far beyond, EVER, has just passed away. This is a true loss for millions of people. There has never been anyone like her, and never will,” Trump wrote.
Trump said flags will be lowered across the United States beginning Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Parton had recently spoken publicly about her health, acknowledging a decline following the March 2025 death of her husband, Carl Dean.
