Union Pacific train derails, causing Iowa town to evacuate

Residents of a rural Iowa town are being evacuated after a destructive bridge collapse.

A Union Pacific train, hauling fertilizer and ammonium nitrate, derailed Sunday and caught fire. Three-thousand residents of the town of Sibley were told to leave.

Emergency personnel have blocked all water traffic near the collapse. Sibley is in the northwest corner of the state, about 200 miles from Des Moines.
