The Trump administration seeks middle ground on USMCA negotiations.
Trade Chief Robert Lighthizer met with the full working group on Thursday. This marks the first sit-down with all nine members since they formally responded to the administration’s counter proposals at the end of September.
Democrats say everything is “still moving in the right direction,” however, Politico reports the working group is still waiting for a formal response to their latest USMCA offer. The two sides are working toward an agreement on four core concerns for Democrats, including environment, enforcement, access to medicines, and labor.
