USDA looks to boost ethanol production and infrastructure through a new incentive program

The USDA is also working to boost ethanol as a sustainable aviation fuel through a higher-blend infrastructure incentive program.

The Rural Development Director for the state of Iowa shares how.

“What we do is provide grants to fueling stations and distribution facility owners, so that includes marine oil rail, home heating oil in addition to what you might think as our gas stations. These grants are used to help expand access to biofuels... Can be used by those fueling station owners to install and upgrade their infrastructure so fuel pumps, dispensers, storage tanks.”

So far, the program has provided almost $19 million in grants for projects in 22 states.
