The USDA has released its most recent weekly crop progress report.
Currently, 15 percent of the U.S. corn crop has been harvested, which is about one percent less than normal. Overall, 57 percent of the corn crop is in good to excellent shape, last week, 61 percent of it was rated good to excellent.
As for soybeans, 20 percent have been harvested. Like corn, soybeans also saw a drop in the percentage of the crop rated good to excellent. This week, it was 55 percent, last week, it was 64 percent.
Winter whet planting is at 35 percent with 10 percent of the crop emerging.
