With favorable weather in most of the corn belt, both the U.S. corn and soybean harvests are moving quicker than usual.
Sunday’s report showed 38 percent of U.S. soybeans and 25 percent of U.S. corn had been harvested so far. The averages for this time are 28 percent and 24 percent respectively.
Soybeans also saw 85 percent of beans dropping leaves and 64 percent of the crop rated good to excellent.
As for corn, 87 percent is mature, well ahead of the usual mark of 78 percent and 62 percent of the corn was good to excellent.
Additionally, 71 percent of rice has been harvested and 20 percent of the cotton crop has been harvested, both of the marks are slightly below average.
Lastly, 52 percent of winter wheat has been planted and 24 percent has been emerged, both are slightly ahead of where they usually are at this point in the year.
