We want to update you on a story that just came through.
The USDA just announced it will establish an Equity Commission, calling it a historic day. The department calls it a major step in addressing racial equity issues in the ag sector.
The Equity Commission Advisory Committee will advise the Ag Secretary on barriers and disparities for under-served communities. The department will also create the Equity Commission Subcommittee on Agriculture, which will report back to the commission with recommendations.
USDA is soliciting nominations for both panels.
