USDA is looking for feedback on its livestock disease indemnity valuation process.
The Department hopes to standardize and provide greater consistency to the process. This comes after notice earlier this week on proposed rulemaking changes.
Under the new system, APHIS would work with other USDA agencies to develop indemnity values and methodology. It would also standardize allowances for an appraisal when an indemnity value cannot be calculated.
The public comment period is open through November 6th.
