A USDA watchdog launches an investigation amid climate change science controversy.
The Inspector General’s Office announced it will examine how USDA deals with climate science reports. Earlier this year, media sources reported, the agency scrapped certain findings related to climate change. Another report found only point 3 percent of USDA’s budget goes to climate research.
Undersecretary Scott Hutchinson, says more than 4 thousand projects related to soil, carbon, and sustainability are being worked on at USDA climate research hubs. To date - there are 10 hubs across the country.
