The Lincoln Journal Star reports American Blue Ribbon Holdings, Village Inn’s parent company has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Monday and listed 53 restaurants were closing as part of the filing.
20 of those listed locations had already closed in the past two years.
The Denver Post reported that Colorado-based Village Inn lost $11 million in 2018 and $7 million in 2019.
The chain has filed for bankruptcy once before, under a previous owner, in 2008.
