Lawmakers in Washington state have passed legislation asking companies to label their beef as a product of the USA or imported.
To be considered a U.S. product, the beef must be derived from an animal born, raised and slaughtered in the U.S. Although it could spend as much as 60 days outside of the country and still qualify.
The measure passed in the state house.
