After a koala was badly burned by a brushfire in Australia, a local woman stepped into help.
Footage shows the marsupial aimlessly walking through the flames before a woman rushes to it, takes it off a tree, wraps it in her shirt and runs the animal to safety.
The koala can be heard wimpering and crying as it is given water to cool down outside of the fire.
According to CBS News, the injured koala was taken to nearby Port Macquarie Koala Hospital.
Fierce fires throughout Australia has caused the nation’s koala population to dwindle so much that some areas have begun using trained dogs to help rescue koalas struggling in the blazes.
