West Virginia DNR Sergeant rescues bald eagle

A Department of Natural Resources Sergeant is being praised after rescuing an injured bald eagle.

According to the West Virginia DNR Facebook page, Sgt. Andrew Lyons received a call that a bald eagle may have been shot or injured. Lyons discovered the eagle at the bottom of a hollow and was able to get the animal to a rehabber.

“Our DNR Law Enforcement officers are committed to making sure you, our state’s wildlife and public lands are protected. If you see anyone harming fish, wildlife or critical habitat, or doing something illegal on public land, you can anonymously report,” the agency said.
