Wheat growers call on the USDA to cover more classes of the crop under the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program, highlighting low prices and economic losses facing producers.
RFD-TV speaks with Dave Milligan, the president of the National Association of Wheat Growers, on classes not included under the program and why it did not make the cut.
“We need the USDA to look at where we are now with the new crop coming in... we feel that we’re under stress and we should be covering the 2020 crop,” Milligan said. “We’re also concerned that we should be looking at local prices that the farmer actually receives.”
