A CDC panel meets today to discuss who will be first in line to get the coronavirus vaccine.
They haven’t mentioned the meatpacking industry specifically, but when they met briefly last month they said farm workers are considered essential.
The panel will likely recommend frontline workers be the second group to receive vaccinations after health care workers and the elderly.
The CDC will make its recommendations based on these guidelines, but distribution will be up to each state.
