Winter Storm Warnings for Late Summer Snow

In weather that is fitting for 2020, much of the Rockies and western plains can expect a up to a 70-degree drop in temperature over the next few hours.

An assorted mix of winter storm watches and warnings, along with winter weather advisories, have been issued for parts of Montana down into northern New Mexico.

Snow started to fall Monday for parts of Montana and Wyoming, while the system is expected to move further south through the week.

According to Accuweather, significant snowfall is in store above 7,000 feet, on average, from western Montana to Wyoming and Colorado. Higher snowfall totals will be most likely in the mountains to the west and northwest of Denver.
