World’s Largest Brat Fest canceled due to coronavirus pandemic

Usually Memorial Day means music, food and brats in Madison, Wisconsin but amid the coronavirus pandemic the annual World’s Largest Brat Fest has been canceled.

The event bring in more than 125,000 visitors each year make it difficult to have the event as preserving health and safety is a “paramount concern” for organizers.

“Brat Fest has always marked the beginning of summer here in Madison, with its free live music and raising money for hundreds of local charities and it’s with a heavy heart that we must cancel this year’s event,” said Tim Metcalfe, Brat Fest Organizer and CEO of Metcalfe’s grocery stores said in a written statement to NBC15.

Brat Fest will return May 28-30, 2021.

The event has been around since 1983 and serves as a fundraiser for local charities.
