Caleb Bennett, Tilden Hooper and Clayton Biglow all had rides of 88.5 to win Round 6 of bareback riding at the National Finals.
It was Biglow’s second consecutive round win and with another night of winning more than $20,000, he has now won more than $84,000 at this year’s National Finals. He sits atop the world standings and the NFR average.
“This never gets old,” he said. “The ride was really good. That horse is awesome. I’ve been wanting to get on her forever and I was tickled to death to have her. My confidence is great, I’m feeling good and I’m ready for four more.”
Hooper, who is No. 4 in the world standings after Tuesday, also praised his horse.
“That was a great horse and when you get one of those you have to bring and take advantage of it and tonight was fun,” he said. “Winning is the best thing for a guy’s confidence.”
As for Bennett, he has now won more than $75,000 at this year’s NFR and is less than $1,000 behind Round 1 winner Richmond Champion for a spot in the Top 5.
“It was a good check for the night, and it will be my first trip to the South Point so I’m looking forward to that,” he said.
Tim O’Connell finished fourth with a score of 88 to remain in second in the NFR average.
